The dates for the nominalization are 2nd November 2018 to up to 9th November 2018 and the counting of the votes will be held on 11th December 2018. The National People’s Party (NPP) announced that it would contest the elections to the 40 members of Mizoram Legislative Assembly.

Generally, The Bharatiya Janata Party didn’t have any strong presence in the state and this is the only Northern East State without the BJP’s presence. Apart from the individuals, new parties will also play an important role in this state’s election.
